Coddington, Newark

Tritax Park Consultation

The proposals

Employment

  • Over 1,000 direct jobs and many more linked indirect jobs.
  • The range of jobs will vary and will include warehouse operatives, systems engineers, office staff, managerial, drivers, etc
  • Logistics industry statistics show that 39% of the workforce are female and 54% of all employees have been with their companies for more than 10 years.

Investment

  • The development represents a significant vote of confidence in Newark.
  • £90m investment on top of the £30m being invested in Phase 1, currently under construction.

Opportunity

Newark is ideally placed to take advantage of what is still arguably the most vibrant sector of the commercial market: big box distribution. This is an opportunity which needs to be seized now before potential occupiers go elsewhere along the A1 corridor.

Design

The proposed buildings will incorporate a design that reflects the colour tones of the existing site, and the building under construction. This will help it to blend in. At low level, the building will feature deep greens, reflecting existing landscaping features such as hedgerows and trees. This will continue up the building to lighter greens and finally blue, echoing the sky.

The buildings will be serviced from the north thereby minimising the buildings any noise.
